There is so much to be done in this short trip, Nouakchott. Mauritania capital is an
agglomeration of different ethnic and cultural groups, a first look on the country’s
diversity. for instance, the Nouakchott camel market one of the largest in west Africa. a
horseback ride on the beach while the fishermen of the Wolof, Fula men dragging in
heavy fishing nets and the younger boys running back and forth with trays of fish. The
national museum of the capital, and a must visit to the local market of the city (marche
capital)
flamingos, waders, whales, dolphins, Dorcas gazelles and idyllic sunsets? tour the
World Heritage–listed park is an important stopover and breeding ground for multitudes
of birds migrating between Europe and southern Africa, and as a result is one of the
best birdwatching sites on the entire continent. It has a length of 170 Km.
- After breakfast, we start early to cover these destinations: - Camel market – marche capital – Saudi mosque - In the afternoon after lunch: - Port de peche in the evening is perfect time to see the fishermen brining in what they have caught for the day and of course we have to have tea at the beach. - Dinner at a local food restaurant under tents.
- After breakfast we heading straight to Banc D’Arguin with a 4x4 beach tour we will make stops to see: - Cap Iwik (whale skeleton) - Cap tafarit
